Good News, not such good news......

The Good news is we got our I171H in the mail last week, we had been waiting 3 months! This is a piece of paper saying from our government to the Chinese government we pass for adopting a child. This is the second time we have had to go through this in this journey. This is really taking a long time.........
I think the closer we get to match the harder the wait because I wait for the %?%? phone to ring everyday, its like living in limbo. I really try hard not to go there but sometimes it just happens. I'm so happy Regina is off this week so she will keep me busy and my mind off of this.
I just got an email from the adoption agency and she said they are up to Oct. 07 and we are Nov 07 so yes we are getting closer but I had hoped it would be sooner than later........I know I know it will happen when its suppose to..................................
Nick and I both felt we would know by Thanksgiving, oh well.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! WE HAVE SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR!!

SOON

It will be one year since we submitted our check list to CCAI waiting child program.
Some are waiting longer then they said..........10 to 12 months wait, well we are at the 12 month mark this Sunday! I emailed the department today because I just can't stand it any more! They replied we are at the top to be matched soon and they hope to call us soon! My stomach did a flip flop!! Stay tuned for the big announcement!

More on the weekend

Weekend Getaway

After Halloween we went to Colorado Springs and stayed in Manitou Springs. It's really a cute town with alot of history. We went to the North Pole and Regina would not even look at Santa, they would not let us take a picture in his house so no picture of Regina and Santa :(

The lost tooth!

Regina lost her first front tooth!

Halloween

It was a very warm Halloween this year! We are never prepared for the cold except this year!! All three of us were dressed very warm too warm! Regina had a school party and parade and she was sooooo hot! Oh well next year we will have a both warm and cold! I can't believe I don't have a picture of me or Nick...........just keep on guessing until our friends email us a picture and I will post it!

Some random things

We are at the 10 month mark soon to be at the 11th month mark. Our adoption agency says 10 to 12 months to match!! So I guess any day now we could get the call. I just really realized this a couple of days ago. Its been a roller coaster ride but I know when we get her it will have been worth it! I also was reading an email post on a yahoo group that I belong to that the adoption agency is waiting on a new list of paper ready kids so maybe she's on the next list!
BIG news I am now 15 pds lighter! I feel great, this Isagenix program is awesome I love it!
I feel healthy, not always hungry and have great energy, its amazing to me that I was able to do this in 24 days!

Regina's Birthday celebration!

Amy, Kaitlyn and Regina went to Build a Bear!

We had dinner and cake at The Med with Nick. The girls had so much fun, so did I!!

PICTURES!

We caught a lot of trout! Regina really loves to fish!

OOPS, these pictures from camp got in with the pictures from Redfeather Lakes!

Our good friends Hanna and Haily, we stayed at their lake house! They joined us for one night.

Regina, Georgia and Henry had a great time at camp, lots of animals on the farm!

Back to School

Regina is in 3rd grade! She loves school. She does NOT like getting up in the am, its been hard but this week it's getting better!
Now I can get focused and get some work done.
Need to make some money so we can go to China!
Nick and I think that by November we will know who
Janae is and then travel in Jan. or Feb. 09. It will be cold
in China that time of year, I hope we can still go and hike
the Great Wall!
I'm doing a cleanse starting today so I can loose some weight
and get in shape before we travel!
My goal is 20 pds lighter and to walk 10,000 steps a day!
We had a wonderful time in Red Feather Lake, we stayed at our friends cabin
and went fishing every day all day, caught lots of trout! Regina caught two!
The dogs loved it too, they went swimming everyday all day!
Want to post some pictures but we are using shutter fly and I can't down load them!
Check back for future pictures of our summer vacation!

Happy Family Day

July 2nd, 2001 was the first day Regina was put in our arms! Wow seven years ago, time has really gone by quickly! We celebrated by shopping (of course getting gotcha day presents) and out to lunch. Our friends and neighbors invited us over for a wonderful dinner. It was really a nice time.
Some people call the first day their child is put in their arms "Gotcha Day", we like to call it "Family Day" because that was the first day we were a family of three!
When we were in China I made up a song and sang it to Regina when she was a baby, when she got older she didn't want me to sing it :( but this year she loved it!!

Here it is..............

Once upon a time in China
there was a little girl who needed a mommy and a daddy
so her mommy and her daddy went to get her and bring her home to Colorado
and her name is Regina Ya Xuan
and her mommy and her daddy love her very very much!

I'm a rock star don't ya think!

Wedding Aniversary

Nick and I celebrated our 18th wedding aniversary today! Of course Regina joined us.

We had a really beautiful Rocky Mountain day. Went to the zoo, then imax theater and watched The Alps movie filmed in Switzerland, it made Nick homesick and made me want to move to Switzerland! Then we went out for a Mexican late lunch it was great, to bad Regina doesn't like Mexican food.......

Enjoy some pictures from our day.

Join us on our Journey to Janae

I am so excited to start our blog! I have been reading blogs for over a year now on other families on the same journey! I have a feeling we will be matched this summer so thought I would get a head start so our friends and family can follow our journey.
Regina is also adopted from China and for the past 2 years has been advocating for a little sister from China, we caved, we are going for it!
When our dossier (paperwork) went to China we thought the wait would be 17 months until travel to China. It's been one year since our paperwork reached China.
It has now turned into a 3 to 4 year wait.................we really don't want to wait that long.
Nick and I have always talked about the waiting child program at CCAI (our adoption agency). We decided to go ahead and apply for this program in November 07, we were accepted (most people are)!
It should be a 10 to 12 month wait in this program so we are very excited. It has already been 6 months!
Nick and I did a lot of soul searching and have decided what special needs we feel our family could deal with.
So join us on this really exciting journey to get Janae, a mei mei for Regina!
