HENAN

We have arrived in Janae's home province!! It was a very short flight from Beijing. We had wonderful guides in Beijing they did an excellent job showing us around Beijing but it is so nice to be here we are ready to get Janae!! Regina said last night I just want to get my sister! So once again Regina and Nick are at the pool swimming and I'm nesting!! The crib just arrived....don't know if she will use it but it's here. The hotel were we are staying at is really really nice!! We receive our new daughter at 10 am tomorrow!! OMG Nick and I have already been crying.....please keep us in your thoughts. Of course we will post pictures asap!!

day 4

We have been dreaming of going to The Great Wall of China since we started this adoption journey and today we got to climb it!! Regina did awesome she kept up with the grown ups and the other older kids! We were in complete awe it was a surreal experience that none of us will ever forget. At night I was so tired but Regina and Nick talked me into going to the night market downtown Beijing. What an interesting adventure that was! I promise to post pictures as soon as Nick down loads them.
Regina has made some great friends on this trip Anna and Allie they love hanging out together.
Anna is my cyber friends daughter from Florida and we think Janae and her new daughter Lilly are good friends also!

We met up with our group today and toured Tianamen Square, the Forbidden City, silk factory, porcelain factory, rickshaw ride, local family.......very cold very tired will post pictures soon....

Beijing

We made it! Regina didn't sleep until the last 2 hours so needless to say she was very special when we woke her to get off the plane.......but that was the worst of it....well not exactly! We arrived in Beijing before our travel group so got a cab to the hotel. The cab driver had Nick in the front seat with a piece of luggage on his lap and Regina and I in the back with the luggage taking up most of the room! On the way I looked in the mirror and the driver started to go to sleep......are you kidding me!!! He then proceeded to bring us to the wrong hotel but we didn't realize that until all of our luggage was out of the cab, the wrong hotel and the cab gone.......so another cab ride about another 1/2 hour. at least he wasn't falling asleep and even was a very friendly guy! So we took showers and off to dinner. Regina fell asleep on my lap poor thing. Nick said my head hit the pillow and I was snoring...I don't snore....whats he talking about!

We are staying in a very historical part of Beijing. It's a very old hotel that is famous for Chinese Opera.
Today we were on our own and took a cab (nice awake guy) to the birds nest and water cube very awesome! We have really been doing a lot of exploring and shopping on our own which truly has been an experience for all of us. Everyone stares at Regina then looks at us does a double take then they start talking between themselves! Today we went to a local market and the store clerk had her face in Regina's speaking Chinese and I said to her (the store clerk) Mama, Baba she is our bow bay (treasure) she said ahhh....

Here I sit in a hotel room right next to the airport trying to take some deep breaths! Nick and Regina are down swimming! I will join them soon but wanted to do one last post before China!
We are over packed and over weight maybe they will cut us some slack....how do people not pack to much this is something I have never been good at!

We just received 7 more hats from Elizabeth's sister from the east coast! Thank you Shelia!!
